Russia’s civilian aviation regulator, Rosaviatsia, mentioned Prigozhin was on the passenger checklist.
However, it was not instantly clear if he had boarded the flight.
Russia’s state news company Tass cited emergency officers as saying that the airplane carried three pilots and 7 passengers.
The authorities mentioned they have been investigating the crash, which occurred within the Tver area greater than 100 kilometres north of Moscow.
Earlier, the Wagner-linked Telegram channel Grey Zone had reported the jet was shot down by air defences in Tver area, north of Moscow.
Prigozhin, whose personal army power Wagner fought alongside Russia’s common military in Ukraine, mounted a short-lived armed mutiny in opposition to Russia’s army management in late June.
The Kremlin mentioned he can be exiled to Belarus, and his fighters would both retire, observe him there, or be part of the Russian army.
Prigozhin was typically known as “Putin’s chef”, after recurrently being entrusted to supply catering companies to the Kremlin and it is chief.
