ATHENS, Greece – Two cargo vessels collided off the Greek island of Chios close to the Turkish coast on Friday, authorities stated, including that there have been no accidents

The Singapore-flagged cargo vessel Potentia with 19 crew members and the Vanuatu-flagged ship ANT with 13 crew collided within the jap Aegean Sea 9 miles north of Chios.

“There are no injuries, there is no risk of pollution”, a coast guard official instructed Reuters on situation of anonymity, including that the ships weren’t loaded with cargo.

It was not instantly clear what had prompted the collision, the official added. Greek authorities have deployed seven vessels and a search and rescue helicopter to the positioning. — Reuters
