It was even part of the unique moon touchdown mission in 1969, as one of many few main telescopes with a transparent line to the moon through the Apollo-11 touchdown.
The Parkes radio telescope, Murriyang, famously supported receiving the tv indicators on that momentous day.
For now, it’s thought of the biggest set of telescopes in Australia. Soon, nonetheless, the Square Kilometre Array in West Australia might take that title.
