SEOUL – South Korea’s navy mentioned on Wednesday it has retrieved the wreckage of a North Korean spy satellite tv for pc that plunged into the ocean in May after a botched launch and located that it didn’t look like able to navy surveillance.
The navy final month recovered elements of the rocket used within the North’s failed launch of its first navy satellite tv for pc, after the booster and payload crashed into the ocean quickly after takeoff.
“After detailed analysis on major parts of North Korea’s space launch vehicle and satellite which were salvaged, South Korean and US experts have assessed that they had no military utility as a reconnaissance satellite at all,” the navy mentioned in a press release.
