HONG KONG – Seven Hong Kong jail officers have been arrested and suspended from work on Wednesday, town’s Correctional Services Department stated, after police stated officers sexually assaulted and gang-raped a lady after a celebration over the weekend.

The seven officers, aged of their 20s and 30s, have been suspended from their duties and any violation of regulation wouldn’t be tolerated, the Correctional Services Department stated in a press release.

On July 9, police stated they obtained a report from a 31-year previous girl that she was raped in a unit in Hong Kong’s Tsim Sha Tsui district. After investigating, police stated they arrested seven native males between the ages of 23 and 38 on July 11 and 12 on suspicion of rape.

All these arrested have been detained for additional investigation, police stated.
