Epidemiologist Professor Tony Blakely says the Royal Commission into New Zealand’s COVID-19 pandemic response is to help in future “pandemic planning”.
“In parallel to our work there’ll be other countries doing commissions and inquiries, we can leverage off that for some of the generic stuff,” he mentioned.
“Our focus will be trying to work out the best set of tools that Aotearoa New Zealand can use in the future for pandemic response.”
