Hayden Klemenok was backpacking with a bunch of associates at Upper Chilnualna Falls when he entered Chilnualna Creek close to the path junction Sunday afternoon, in line with a Wednesday Facebook publish from the park.
Klemenok has not been seen since, the park stated.
He was carrying a tan-colored brimmed hat, white sun shades, a purple T-shirt, blue swimming trunks and white Adidas footwear on the day he went lacking, park officers stated.
Officials urged guests to contact Yosemite Park dispatch if they’ve seen Klemenok or had been mountaineering close to the realm he was final seen on Sunday.
“Simply knowing where you went and when you were there may help us focus the search, whether you saw anyone or not,” the park’s publish stated.
A household good friend created a GoFundMe for Klemenok’s household “to help ease the pain of the costs of all the expenses and struggles they are currently facing.” The household is taking time without work to assist seek for Klemenok, the fundraiser web page stated.
The fundraiser described Klemenok as “a truly extraordinary young man” and a latest graduate of San Diego State University.
A separate alert issued by Yosemite officers warned that water-related accidents are the second-leading reason behind park deaths, and that “rivers are surprisingly swift, cold and dangerous.”
“Each year, 15 to 20 visitor rescues are directly associated with unprepared victims finding themselves in the water,” the park stated.
