NEW YORK – Three youngsters have been arrested within the northern United States after allegedly killing and consuming a swan that they thought was a duck, police stated.
The pen — known as Faye — was killed over the weekend at a pond in Manlius, a suburb of Syracuse in upstate New York, the native police division stated in an announcement.
The suspects stole her 4 cygnets and meant to maintain them as pets, Sergeant Kenneth Hatter of Manlius police informed reporters.
The child swans have been later recovered alive from a close-by store, the place one of many suspects labored, and a personal residence.
Faye, nevertheless, was much less lucky.
“The family and friends did consume the adult swan. They believed it was just a very large duck,” Hatter informed a press convention Tuesday.
