Underwater pictures taken within the blue gap try to reveal extra of the opening’s mysteries.
“We don’t know what is at the bottom of it yet,” Dr Juan Carlos Alcérreca-Huerta, lead researcher affiliated to the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) and commissioned to ECOSUR, informed 9news.com.au.
He added the precise backside depth shouldn’t be fairly identified but.
“We made some measurements a few months ago, we reached around 270 metres but we didn’t reach the bottom depth,” he stated.
