Militants linked to Islamic State kill 25 in attack on Ugandan school —police

Militants linked to Islamic State killed 25 folks in a terrorist assault on a faculty in western Uganda close to the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ugandan police mentioned on Saturday. 

Members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a Ugandan group based mostly in japanese Congo that has pledged allegiance to Islamic State, attacked Lhubirira secondary college in Mpondwe, burning a dormitory and looting meals late on Friday, police mentioned.

“So far 25 bodies have been recovered from the school and transferred to Bwera Hospital. Also recovered are eight victims, who remain in critical condition at Bwera Hospital,” Ugandan police mentioned on Twitter.

Police didn’t say how lots of the useless have been college kids.

Soldiers have been pursuing the attackers who fled in direction of Virunga National Park within the Democratic Republic of Congo, police added.

In April, the ADF attacked a village in japanese Democratic Republic of Congo, killing a minimum of 20 folks.

Uganda has despatched troops into Congo to assist struggle the ADF. —Reuters
