Manila declares half-day gov’t work for Dec. 23, Dec. 29

The Manila City authorities on Friday introduced a half-day work suspension within the native authorities on December 23 and December 29 to permit its personnel to organize for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

In an government order, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna stated work will probably be suspended from 1 p.m. onwards.

“[T]o prepare for Christmas and New Year celebrations after a year of hard work and dedicated public service, city government employees of the City of Manila deserve a little time and opportunity to aptly prepare for the holidays in order to have a meaningful celebration of the season with their families, friends, and loved ones,” it learn.

However, personnel or places of work concerned in peace and order, public providers, visitors enforcement, catastrophe and danger discount administration, and well being and sanitation are excluded.
