Man extradited from SA to Queensland to face 25 historical rape charges

Queensland police stated the person was arrested in Ceduna, about eight hours’ drive west of Adelaide, on Tuesday.

The man, who cannot be named for authorized causes, was extradited to Cairns on Thursday.

He confronted court docket on 25 counts of rape, 11 counts of indecent assault and one rely of deprivation of liberty.

The alleged incidents had been reported to police in October 2021 and date again to 1978 and 1979.

A police spokesperson stated there was believed to be multiple alleged sufferer.

The 75-year-old was remanded in custody to face Cairns Magistrate Court once more on Friday.
