Roughly 715,000 pictures and 16 terabytes of knowledge had been gathered through the expedition – which Magellan estimates to be “approximately ten times larger than any underwater 3D model that’s ever been attempted before,” Magellan CEO Richard Parkinson stated.

Parkinson described the mission as “challenging,” referencing the staff’s battle towards “the elements, bad weather, and technical challenges.”

Whereas earlier optical pictures of the ship had been restricted by low gentle stage and the poor gentle high quality 12,500 toes under water, the brand new mapping method has “effectively taken away the water and let in the light,” the press launch stated.
