Iran says it has developed long-range cruise missile

DUBAI – Iran has developed a cruise missile with a spread of 1,650 km (1,025 miles) a prime Revolutionary Guards commander mentioned on Friday, in a transfer more likely to elevate Western issues after Russia’s use of Iranian drones within the Ukraine warfare.

“Our cruise missile with a range of 1,650 km has been added to the missile arsenal of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Amirali Hajizadeh, the top of the Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Force, informed state TV.

The tv broadcast what it mentioned was the primary footage exhibiting the brand new Paveh cruise missile.

Iran has expanded its missile program, significantly its ballistic missiles, in defiance of opposition from the United States and expressions of concern by European nations. Tehran says this system is only defensive and of a deterrent nature.

Iran has mentioned it had equipped Moscow with drones earlier than the warfare in Ukraine. Russia has used the drones to focus on energy stations and civilian infrastructure.

In November, the Pentagon mentioned the United States was skeptical of stories quoting Hajizadeh as saying Iran had developed a hypersonic ballistic missile. —Reuters
