Indonesia’s Banda Sea area was hit by two highly effective earthquakes on Wednesday, although neither with tsunami potential, in response to the nation’s geophysics company.
The first quake was of 6.9 magnitude and hit the world near noon native time on Wednesday whereas the second registered 6.8 and struck late within the night.
The epicenter of each quakes was at sea, situated 255 km (158 miles) from the Tanimbar Islands in Indonesia’s Maluku province. The islands are about 420 km off Australia’s Northern Territory.
The depth of the primary quake was 45 km whereas the second 10 km, the company added.
There was no rapid report of harm.
