‘I am evil’: Nurse accused of seven baby murders wrote confronting notes afterwards

A UK nurse accused of murdering seven infants and making an attempt to kill 10 others has denied ever making an attempt to hurt the infants in her care.

Letby allegedly injected infants with air or deadly doses of insulin.

She was questioned on the stand over the allegations towards her, the BBC experiences.

“Have you ever tried to harm a baby?” her defence barrister Ben Myers KC requested.

“Have you ever used insulin with the intention of harming a baby?” he requested.

“Have you ever physically assaulted a baby?”

The court docket was proven scrawled notes present in Letby’s house after her arrest, which prosecutors argue present her guilt.

“I killed them on purpose because I’m not good enough,” one notice reads.

Letby instructed the court docket that she was struggling together with her psychological well being when she wrote the notes after the infants’ deaths.

She stated she felt she “somehow had been incompetent and done something wrong, which affected those babies”.

“I felt I must be responsible in some way.”

Letby has denied all 22 expenses towards her.
