ATHENS — Police on Sunday had been looking out a Ryanair passenger aircraft that landed at Athens International Airport for any suspicious gadgets after receiving an alert for a bomb risk, police officers stated.
The pilot of the Boeing 737 plane, with about 190 passengers and crew on board, had earlier alerted authorities over a doable explosive gadget on board, one of many officers stated.
The aircraft, which was flying from Katowice in Poland to Greece arrived in Athens escorted by two fighter jets at 5:35 p.m. (1535 GMT, 11:35 p.m., Philippines time). Firefighting engines had been on standby because it landed.
