Caritas Australia’s Middle East Humanitarian Lead Sally Thomas says individuals in Syria and Turkey “are just trying to survive day by day” following earthquakes which have resulted in 12,000 identified deaths.
“There’s also hundreds of thousands of people at this moment that are just in survival mode,” she informed Sky News Australia.
She stated many voters are too scared to re-enter their properties for concern of collapse.
“They’re just trying to get anything they can to survive through the night in the freezing temperatures.”
