Dozens injured, some seriously, after ‘severe turbulence’ on Hawaiian Airlines flight

At least 36 folks on a Hawaiian Airlines flight had been injured, with 20 taken to emergency rooms, after their aircraft encountered “severe turbulence” on a flight from Phoenix to Honolulu on Sunday, US authorities mentioned.

Eleven sufferers had been in critical situation, Honolulu Emergency Medical Services mentioned in an announcement.

Among these transported to the hospital was a 14-month-old baby.

The sufferers’ accidents included a critical head damage, lacerations, bruising and lack of consciousness, Honolulu EMS mentioned.

Hawaiian Airlines is “supporting all affected passengers and employees” and monitoring the scenario, the corporate mentioned.

“Medical care was provided to several guests and crewmembers at the airport for minor injuries while some were swiftly transported to local hospitals for further care,” Hawaiian Airlines tweeted.
