Sky News Asia Correspondent Brent O’Halloran says China hasn’t supplied many particulars on what it has described as strike drills within the air and sea round Taiwan.
According to Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense, eight Chinese jets and three ships have been detected close to its territory yesterday.
The Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army mentioned it had “carried out joint combat redness patrols and joint firepower strike drills” round Taiwan, although it didn’t present particular areas.
“This is a resolute response to current escalations of collusions and provocation from the United States and Taiwan.”
