Bank of England lifts UK’s interest rate to 4.5 per cent

The Bank of England has voted to raise the UK’s rate of interest by 25 foundation factors in an try and curb double-digit inflation figures.

It is the twelfth time in a row the financial institution has voted to extend borrowing prices, with this newest rise lifting its key rate of interest to 4.5 per cent.

The announcement locations the United Kingdom’s rate of interest at ranges not seen because the 2008 international monetary disaster.
