An Australian man aged in his 60s has died whereas mountain climbing in Nepal.
9News understands the person was trekking to Tumlingtar within the Sankhuwasabha district after departing Lukla when he fell in poor health on Monday.
The small city of Lukla is well-liked amongst travellers visiting the Himalayas and Mount Everest.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) confirmed authorities are offering help to the person’s household.
“We offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends,” a spokesperson informed 9news.com.au.
“Owing to our privacy obligations, we are unable to provide further comment.”
