Service NSW has issued an apology after revealing the info of 3700 clients might have been uncovered after a “recent technical issue”.

“Between 1.20pm and 3pm on Monday 20 March 2023, some Service NSW customers experienced technical issues when logged into their MyServiceNSW account via a web browser,” they stated in an announcement equipped to 9news.com.au.
“The problem was limited to the landing dashboard when customers logged in via the website, no issues were identified with the Service NSW mobile application.
“About 3700 clients might have been impacted throughout that point. The dashboard web page was taken down at 3pm and the problem was resolved rapidly.
“Service NSW can confirm the incident was not a cyber-attack.”
The spokesperson stated the company is working to help clients affected by the breach.
“Service NSW apologises to customers impacted by a recent technical issue,” they stated.
“Our priority is the safety and security of every customer affected by the incident, and we are committed to ensuring customers feel supported.
“A assessment of the incident is continuous to make sure Service NSW has measures in place to forestall related incidents.”
A further 6.1 million customer records including some but not all of the customer’s names, addresses, phone numbers and dates of birth were stolen in the attack.
Of those records, 97 per cent were from before 2013, and date back to 2005.
