Preparations at the moment are underway for the deliberate shutting off of analog tv and transition to digital terrestrial tv broadcasting (DTTB), the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) stated Monday.
In a public briefing, NTC Deputy Commissioner Alvin Blanco stated the preparations for the combination are ongoing and that some TV networks at the moment are providing digital TV packing containers.
“Ang ating analog shut off or phaseout is hindi naurong. At this point in our transition, nagu-umpisa na tayo mag-prepare for the analog shut off…We’re looking for a working date para sa analog shut off…It’s something na (pagpa planuhan) pa natin as we go along for the preparations,” stated Blanco.
(The deadline for the shut off was not delayed. At this level, we’re getting ready for the analog TV phase-out. We’re in search of a working date for the shut and it’s one thing that we have to examine as we go alongside the preparations.)
