Two-time grand slam champion Garbine Muguruza has introduced she is marrying her accomplice, who she met via an opportunity encounter.

The Sun studies the tennis star, 29, is ready to tie the knot together with her boyfriend of almost two years, mannequin Arthur Borges.

The 2017 Wimbledon winner met her groom-to-be by probability when he randomly ran into her and requested her for a selfie in New York in August 2021.

The former WTA world No. 1 informed American media: “My hotel was close to Central Park and I was bored, so I thought I should go for a walk.

“I go out and I run into him on the street. Suddenly, he turns and says, ‘Good luck at the US Open.’ I was left thinking, ‘Wow, he’s so handsome’.”

Muguruza revealed that she and Borges continued assembly one another and sometimes went on walks round Central Park.

Muguruza recalled: “It felt weird. I was thinking something else and then when he proposed I started crying.
