Andy Murray will begin preparations for a fifteenth Australian Open in South Australia for the primary time, lining up on the Adelaide International.
The veteran Scotsman has entered together with Italian younger gun Jannik Sinner, who’s ranked world No.15, with play within the week-long event getting underway on January 1.
Adelaide will host back-to-back mixed WTA 500 and ATP 250 tournaments, with the second editions from January 9-14.
Former world No.1 Murray, a five-time finalist at Melbourne Park, mentioned he was trying ahead to a change in his Open build-up.
“Playing at the Adelaide International for the first time is something I’m looking forward to,” 35-year-old Murray mentioned in an announcement.
“The crowds in Australia love their tennis and they’ve always been very supportive.
“I’ve been working arduous within the off season and the Adelaide International shall be nice preparation for the Australian Open.”
Two-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka will headline the ladies’s subject for each tournaments, with twin Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova to affix the line-up within the second week.
