US singer Phoebe Bridgers has gone viral after main a foul-mouthed chant slamming Margaret Court throughout a gig on the Melbourne area named after the tennis nice.
The 28-year-old musician was acting at Margaret Court Arena on Wednesday evening when she referred to as the previous No.1 tennis participant — who’s considered one of Australia’s most vocal opponents of same-sex marriage — a “stupid c***”.
“F*** that stupid c***, change your name,” Bridgers stated.
Bridgers, who collaborated with Taylor Swift in 2021, then inspired the gang at her sold-out present to chant “f*** Margaret Court”.
“Who wants to say f*** Margaret Court on three? On three. One, two three, f*** Margaret Court.”
“I think hate is undervalued. I think it’s like a f***ing weird, white supremacist idea that hate is bad, or something?
“You know what I mean? It’s like hate is like what moves things throughout history. I hate that stupid b****!
Bridgers’ poignant words struck the right note with her thousands of fans who yelled and cheered, with some hailing the stunt “iconic” on social media.
Court has repeatedly made headlines for her discriminatory views.
She publicly opposed same-sex marriage, describing it as a “trend”.
“I think there will be a price to pay for it in the future in the nation and people will see it’s not about marriage,” Court stated after the wedding vote which Australia voted in favour of in 2017.
“There will be a genderless generation.
“My thing was a marriage is between a man and a woman.”
Court gained 24 grand slam titles within the Nineteen Sixties and early 70s.
