A-League cellar dwellers Melbourne Victory have bolstered their attacking shares for the remainder of the season with signing of Bruce Kamau.
Kamau, 27, has joined the Victory on mortgage from Greek Super League membership OFI Crete.
The former Australian under-23 worldwide has beforehand had spells with three different A-League golf equipment – Western Sydney Wanderers, Melbourne City and Adelaide United – and gained the championship with the Reds in 2016.
Victory coach Tony Popovic, whose attacking shares have been hit with Nani’s season-ending knee harm and Nick D’Agostino’s departure for Norwegian membership Viking, mentioned Kamau would add a “dynamic element” to his aspect.
“Bruce is a talented forward who has proved himself at A-League level and we’re looking forward to bringing his experience and attributes into our side,” Popovic mentioned.
“Bruce has spent some time in a European league to progress as a footballer and we believe the environment at Melbourne Victory will allow us to bring the best out of him.”
Kamau, who is out there for choice on Friday evening when the Victory host Wellington Phoenix at AAMI Park, mentioned he was “thrilled to be heading back to the A-League” after 18 months in Greece.
“I’ll be looking to use this period to give everything I have for the club and the fans, and to help lift Melbourne Victory to where they belong,” he mentioned.
The Victory have misplaced eight of their 13 matches this season, and are but to get well – on and off the sphere – from the sanctions imposed on them after a gaggle of their followers invaded the pitch throughout December’s Melbourne derby.
