‘Soccer Ashes’ venue confirmed

Australia’s “Soccer Ashes” battle with New Zealand subsequent month will probably be performed at GTech Community Stadium, the house of English Premier League membership Brentford.

The 17,250-capacity stadium in London’s west was confirmed on Wednesday because the venue for the October 18 (AEDT) match – which was introduced in July – between the trans-Tasman rivals.

Up for grabs would be the Soccer Ashes Trophy, which hasn’t been performed for since 1954.

The Socceroos drew 2-2 with Mexico in Dallas on Sunday.
