Charlie Austin is ready to depart Brisbane Roar lower than six months after becoming a member of the A-League membership.
The former English Premier League striker is known to have advised his Roar teammates on Monday that he can be returning to the UK, probably as early as subsequent week.
Family causes are understood to be behind Austin’s choice to ask to be launched early from his two-year contract.
Roar chairman Chris Fong wouldn’t affirm the 33-year-old ex-Southampton and QPR marksman’s departure.
“We are focusing on strengthening our attacking line-up in the January window,” Fong stated.
“If Charlie is a part of that I’m not sure but I do understand discussions are in progress as there are broader implications at stake, especially non-club related.
“Charlie is a stand-up person, and wherever we land it will be in the best interests for the club and Charlie.”
Austin, whose remaining match for the Roar may very well be Brisbane’s conflict on Friday night time in opposition to Newcastle at McDonald Jones Stadium, has scored 4 objectives in 10 appearances in all competitions for the Roar.
Austin was among the many competitors’s prized low season recruits, and was the topic of an episode of the A-Leagues All Access collection earlier this season.
