An investigation into alleged racial abuse is underway after Filipino goalkeeper Neil Etheridge reported an incident to the referee throughout Birmingham City FC’s 2-2 draw with Blackburn Rovers within the Emirates FA Cup final Saturday.
In a press release, Birmingham confirmed {that a} report had been made, and pledged its assist behind Etheridge.
“The Club can confirm that during the second-half of Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup tie against Blackburn Rovers, after the game’s fourth goal, Neil Etheridge reported an incident of racism to the referee,” the assertion learn.
“Blues gives its full support to Neil. There is no room for racism in the game.”
