Matildas goalkeeper Teagan Micah is the newest Aussie to earn a contract within the English Women’s Super League penning a take care of Liverpool.
There is a rising variety of Australian girls within the competitors with athletes enjoying for Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Leicester, Everton, Brighton Hove & Albion and West Ham.
It is a formidable achievement for Micah who spent six months of the season at FC Rosengard on the bench following a severe head knock.
Micah has performed all over the world on her journey to a contract with one of many world’s largest sporting golf equipment — with stints at UCLA within the US and Norwegian outfits Arna-Bjonar and Sandviken previous to becoming a member of Rosengard in 2021.
Rosengard have received the final two league titles in Sweden.
Micah, who’s in camp with the Matildas for the Women’s World Cup, stated she was excited for the subsequent chapter of her profession.
“For me, it was also about getting into the WSL – I know it’s turning into the best league in the world. To be able to compete against the best players in the world is really important for myself, for my career,” she instructed Liverpoolfc.com.
“I can just see this club is going places, it’s investing, so there are a lot of good factors coming together.
“Liverpool are a massive club around the world, so hopefully with another Aussie at the club they can get around it even more.
“I hope I can help take us to the next level and hopefully cement us as a Champions League team in the years to come.
“I’m just proper excited, really stoked to be here and can’t wait to get to work after the World Cup.”
Liverpool coach Matt Beard stated Micah was within the peak of her profession.
“The fact that she’s won titles, played for big clubs, played in Champions League games, she’s experienced different things even at a young age for a goalkeeper – that experience will be invaluable and hopefully we’ll be able to draw on that throughout the course of the season,” Beard stated.
