Hoops keep Kyogo from Ange’s clutches

Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi received’t be following former Celtic supervisor Ange Postecoglou to Tottenham after signing a brand new four-year deal to stay with the Hoops.

During his two years at Celtic below Postecoglou, Furuhashi scored 54 targets in 83 appearances and was a part of all-conquering squad that received 5 trophies, together with the Scottish treble within the 2022-23 season.

However, following Postecoglou’s departure for Spurs final month, Furuhashi was nearly instantly linked with a transfer to the London-based English Premier League membership.

But a lot to the aid of the Hoops, the 28-year-old attacker has dedicated his future to the Scottish giants.

“I am very happy to extend my stay for four years at this incredible club,” Furuhashi mentioned.

Brendan Rodgers, who has replaced Postecoglou as Celtic manager, said: “It is brilliant news for the club. Kyogo is an important player for us so I am delighted he has signed a new contract.

“He is an exciting player who is hungry to bring more success to our club. He has a great mentality and is an unbelievable talent.

“I am looking forward to working with him and helping him and the wider team develop to help drive the club forward.”
