Heat forces A-League fixture changes

Expected heatwave situations have led to time modifications and postponements of A-League males’s and girls’s matches in Melbourne and Adelaide subsequent week.

Tuesday’s males’s match between Melbourne City and the Central Coast Mariners at AAMI Park will now begin on the later time of 5.30pm (AEDT).

The kick-off time for that evening’s males’s match at Coopers Stadium between Adelaide United and Newcastle has been pushed again at 8.15pm (AEDT).
In the ladies’s competitors, Tuesday’s battle between Melbourne City and Perth Glory at AAMI Park will now start at 8.15pm (AEDT).

However, Tuesday’s scheduled girls’s conflict at Coopers Stadium between Adelaide United and Wellington Phoenix has postponed, as has the match that was set down for Wednesday at City Vista Recreation Reserve involving Western United and the Newcastle Jets.

The Australian Professional Leagues warmth coverage states that if the ambient temperature approaches 40C and/or the moist bulb globe temperature exceeds 28C, matches ought to be delayed or postponed.

Drink breaks can even happen if the ambient temperature is greater than 31C and/or the WBGT is between 26V and 27.9C.
