Defender Angela Beard was the latest addition to the Philippine nationwide ladies’s soccer group for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Beard made her official debut with the Filipinas throughout their match towards Switzerland on July 21 and of their second sport on Tuesday, the nationwide group already acquired its first objective and victory within the World Cup.
It was an emotional second as nicely for Beard.
“I was actually crying with Bella Flannigan after the game,” she informed GMA Integrated News, including that it took her round 15 months to formally be part of the group.
“Now that I’m here, it feels like home.”
Home is the place the guts is and it appeared like Beard simply gelled with the group – simply in time, too, for the World Cup.
“I cherish obviously all the time that I’ve had in my career so far but being here with these girls, I just can’t explain it. It feels like I can just be me. It feels like 100% so welcomed into the group,” she added.
She hopes issues will favor them as they face Norway in an important match on Sunday.
“I hope we can keep the results like this,” Beard stated after their win final Tuesday.
A win for the Filipinas on Sunday would enhance their probabilities of advancing to the knockout stage of the World Cup.
