Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has praised the efforts of Arjun Tendulkar, son of batting legend Sachin, after the bowler picked up his first wicket within the Indian Premier League throughout their victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The 23-year-old dismissed Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 2 runs within the last over of Tuesday’s match, which Mumbai received by 14 runs thanks in no small half to an unbeaten 64 from Australian allrounder Cameron Green.
He conceded 18 runs in 2.5 overs.
The Tendulkars grew to become the primary father-son duo to have performed within the IPL after Arjun made his debut on Sunday towards former champions Kolkata Knight Riders.
Rohit stated Arjun, who was picked by Mumbai through the public sale in 2021, was assured about what he needs to do for the crew.
“We saw in this leadup to the IPL what he was doing – he was bowling fast, nailing those yorkers and quite clear in his plans as well,” Rohit stated.
“Keeping things easy – that’s what he is trying to do.”
