Play halted as protester STORMS Lord’s during Test

Protesters have stopped play within the second Ashes Test at Lord’s after only one over, with a participant compelled to intervene.

English wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow turned a safety guard as he caught one of many males in a bear hug as he approached the grassy pitch.

He subsequently carried the protester off the sector and into the ready arms of safety workers.

Bairstow raced off the bottom for a package change after being hit by the powder.

Security was ramped up for that match, and there have been no incidents, however safety was breached on the opening morning of the Ashes.
