India’s place within the World Test Championship ultimate towards Australia is locked in after New Zealand ended Sri Lanka’s slim hopes of reaching the decider.
Sri Lanka wanted to win their collection in New Zealand 2-0 and depend on India not profitable their fourth and ultimate Test towards Australia in Ahmedabad.
But a basic knock of 121 not out from Black Caps star Kane Williamson steered New Zealand to an exciting two-wicket win towards Sri Lanka on the ultimate ball of the match in Christchurch.
Australia secured their spot within the ultimate by beating India by 9 wickets in Indore final week.
India and Australia will meet within the second WTC ultimate at The Oval in London, beginning on June 7.
The match will come lower than three months after the Border-Gavaskar collection, which India are poised to win 2-1.
New Zealand defeated India within the inaugural WTC decider in 2021.
