GRUESOME x-ray reveals Green’s nasty finger injury

WA allrounder Cameron Green has revealed the extent of the grotesque finger damage he suffered within the Boxing Day Test that can sideline him for the speedy future.

The 23-year-old shared {a photograph} of an x-ray of his damaged finger on Instagram, in a put up captioned: “rollercoaster of a week”.

Fresh off an IPL deal price greater than $3 million and a maiden five-wicket haul within the first innings on the MCG, Green’s summer season was delivered to a screeching halt by a missile from Proteas fast Anrich Nortje.

The supply brought about a minor fracture in his proper index finger on his bowling hand and compelled him to retire damage.

“You try to not show the pain straight away,” Green instructed cricket.com.au.

“I marked my guard again and walked a couple of steps, and I was like ‘I reckon my finger is out of place here’.

“I checked on it – it looked a little bit inverted is the only way I can explain it. It already had a big cut in it, then I got the bad news after the scan.”

After assessing the injury in a single day, Green returned to the crease to chalk up an unbeaten half century, with Australia happening to win the Test by an innings and 182 runs.

Green will journey to Sydney with the Australian facet regardless of WA teammate Ashton Agar and Matt Renshaw changing him and injured spearhead Mitchell Starc within the 140-man squad for the SCG Test.

It comes after Cricket Australia confirmed to The West Australian on Thursday that Green would bear surgical procedure, as he plots a return for the tour of India in February.

He has been dominated out of the New Year’s Test and the rest of Perth Scorchers’ Big Bash League marketing campaign.
