Fallen Qld police honoured at Test match

The Test groups of Australia and South Africa have paid tribute to the 2 Queensland law enforcement officials and an area resident who have been shot useless in a horrific assault in rural Queensland.

The two sides wore black armbands and a minute’s silence was noticed earlier than the primary Test on the Gabba, in tribute to constables Matthew Arnold, 26, and Rachel McCrow, 29, together with native man Alan Dare.

The trio have been gunned down at a rural property in Wieambilla, about three hours west of Brisbane, on Monday.

Queensland Police members have been available on the tribute to their late colleagues – which was broadcast across the globe – and there have been tears of grief over the lack of beloved and valued members of the group.

Presenter James Sherry addressed the sell-out crowd, saying: “Earlier this week our nation was shocked and saddened by the tragic events that occurred in Queensland’s Western Downs.

“Cricket Australia and Queensland Cricket prolong our heartfelt condolences to the households and pals, the colleagues and all of these grieving the tragic deaths of Queensland Police constables Matthew Arnold and Rachel McCrow and Mr Alan Dare of the Wieambilla group.”

The crowd burst right into a spherical of applause in tribute to the fallen trio earlier than observing the minute’s silence.
