USA’s Anthony Edwards on their FIBA World Cup second round foes: We’re gonna win

Team USA’s Anthony Edwards is optimistic about their probabilities within the second spherical of the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

After sweeping their first spherical matches on Wednesday, Edwards mentioned they’re assured of going in opposition to their subsequent opponents which embrace Lithuania, which has Jonas Valanciunas, and Montenegro, which has Nikola Vucevic.

“I mean, I think we’re going to win. We’re going to beat them also,” Edwards mentioned, drawing laughter from the members of the media along with his straight up reply.

 

 

“We have a great chance to win. We have great coaching staff, we have great players, our confidence is at an all-time high, so we’re not worried about those guys.”

However, for USA head coach Steve Kerr, they nonetheless have to play higher.

“We know that the competition is about to get tougher. We got to the second round, we got the best teams now and we have to play really well to win.”

Greece and New Zealand will battle tonight for the ultimate slot of their group.
