San Sebastian College-Recoletos and Mapua University each notched wins within the 2023 Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup held in San Juan on Saturday.
The Stags defeated Jose Rizal University, 91-83, with 23 factors coming from Reggz Albert Gabat. Jacob Shanoda added 14 factors and a rebound shy of a double-double with 9 boards. Rafael Are had 12 factors, seven rebounds, and 6 assists.
Earlier, Mapua University dismantled Arellano University, 92-76.
John Kobe Dalisay had 18 factors whereas Warren Bonifacio posted 16 factors, eight boards, and 6 assists. Clint Escamis nearly had a triple-double as he had 12 factors, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. Cyrus Cuenco, in the meantime, had 17 factors.
As of writing, University of the Philippines is taking over National University whereas De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde will go towards San Beda University at 4 pm.
