Pao Javillonar issues apology following incident with Will Gozum

Colegio de San Juan de Letran huge man Paolo Javillonar has issued an apology following an incident involving him and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde’s Will Gozum.

The Knights ahead was earlier reprimanded by league officers after he grabbed Gozum’s delicate elements in Game 1 of Letran and Benilde’s best-of-three Finals collection final December 4.

 

 

Javillonar acknowledged the implications of his motion, however mentioned there was no malice meant, saying it was only a gesture of gamesmanship.

“I am writing you this letter to sincerely apologize for the impolite gesture that I have displayed towards Mr. Will Allen Gozum,” Javillonar wrote.

“Given my intense defensive mindset, nilagay ko lang ‘yung kamay ko sa kanya to prevent a backdoor play or maka-score siya sa akin. No malice was intended.”

Gozum earlier previously said he wasn’t pleased with Javillonar’s antics.

For his half, Javillonar vowed to not let the identical incident occur once more sooner or later, particularly that the Knights wish to cop their third straight title.

“I am sincerely apologizing to the NCAA family and to everyone offended by my actions,” Javillonar added.

“This has been a teaching and learning moment for me. Be rest assured that I would not let this happen again.”
