Australia overcame a shaky begin to run away 98-72 winners and whereas neither group suffered any important accidents, Ingles warned that would change if the courtroom circumstances don’t.

Ingles was noticed visibly pissed off with one official after he slipped over, having to get his bloodied elbow cleaned up and later strapped.

“You saw Markkanen slipped three times in one possession, I slipped a couple of times,” Ingles instructed reporters post-game, together with Basket News.

“There were also stickers on the floor that weren’t cleaned well enough, but it needs [to be] sorted out for the caliber of players this tournament has. You don’t want to see someone injured because of a sticker.”

Australia teammate Josh Giddey additionally described the courtroom as “slippery” in response to Basket News.

“Hopefully there are no injuries because of it,” Giddey added.

While Ingles was understandably upset within the second, he stated he needed to “apologise” to the FIBA official who he had remonstrated.

“I saw him talking with the floor wipers, and I thought that he must be in charge,” Ingles stated.
