NBA: Kings sign JaVale McGee to contract

The Sacramento Kings signed veteran heart JaVale McGee to a contract.

Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed by the Kings on Saturday.

The Dallas Mavericks waived McGee on Tuesday, 13 months after signing him to a three-year, $17.2 million deal.

In Sacramento, he’ll compete to again up three-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis, who averaged 19.1 factors and 12.3 rebounds final season because the Kings made their first postseason look since 2006.

McGee, 35, averaged 4.4 factors and a pair of.5 rebounds in 42 video games (seven begins) with the Mavericks in 2022-23.

The 7-footer has profession averages of seven.8 factors and 5.2 boards in 863 video games (343 begins) with eight groups.
