Mapua goes 4-0 after rout of San Beda; San Sebastian, Lyceum pick up bounce back wins

Mapua University prolonged its unbeaten run within the NCAA Season 98 juniors basketball match after dismantling defending champion San Beda University, 76-62, on Wednesday on the EAC Gym.

Mapua, alongside Colegio de San Juan de Letran, remained as the 2 remaining undefeated groups because the Red Robins improved to 4-0 whereas San Beda absorbed its second loss to drop to a good 2-2 card.

Nygel Gonzales picked up the place he left off from their earlier sport, ending with 18 factors, six rebounds, and 6 assists whereas Sean Salvador chipped in 11 markers, three boards, three dimes, and two blocks to steer Mapua to a wire-to-wire victory.

Christopher Hubilla was among the many brights spots for the Red Cubs with the rising star dropping a double-double outing of 18 factors, 11 rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block.

Meanwhile, San Sebastian College-Recoletos and Lyceum of the Philippines University dominated their respective foes to enhance their standings.

The Staglets eked out a masterful 82-51 conquer host Emilio Aguinaldo College behind Ernest Geronimo’s  management as San Sebastian hiked its slate to 2-2 whereas maintaining EAC winless at 0-4.

Geronimo dropped 12 factors and 5 rebounds whereas CJ Rodriguez and Mark Danag every poured in 9 markers to assist the trigger. EAC leaned on on Lance Dungo who paced the Brigadiers with an all-around efficiency of 15 markers, 11 boards, two dimes, three steals, and two blocks.

Lyceum, however, bounced again from a earlier loss to La Salle Greenhills with an 87-77 escape over Jose Rizal University. Matthew Rubico was once more on the forefront after he registered a monster numbers of 32 factors, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, and three steals to ship the Junior Pirates to a 2-2 card.

The Light Bombers dropped to an analogous 2-2 slate.
