Lyceum of the Philippines University secured the commitments of highschool standouts Jasper Matienzo and Peter Mulligan because the Pirates proceed to gear up for NCAA Season 100.
The 6-foot-3 Matienzo was the main scorer for the Junior Pirates within the NCAA Season 99 juniors basketball event, averaging 11.44 factors, 4.78 rebounds, 1.89 assists, 1.44 steals, and 1.0 blocks whereas the 6-foot guard Mulligan posted 6.56 markers, 2.67 boards, 0.78 dimes, and .56 swats.
Unfortunately for the Junior Pirates, they struggled to transform wins as they completed with a 2-7 win-loss card.
But with the 2 juniors stars becoming a member of the seniors staff, Pirates head coach Gilbert Malabanan is assured that they are going to be an excellent slot in his system.
“We are delighted that Jasper and Peter have chosen to stay with us. I believe and trust in their capabilities, and they are a great fit for our system,” Malabanan stated.
“It is crucial for us to maintain continuity from grassroots to the senior level. Developing players from the grassroots and teaching them our system will make it easier for them when they reach the senior level.”
Matienzo and Mulligan had been the most recent gamers to hitch the Pirates after William Sy, who determined to go away Jose Rizal University after two seasons, as the varsity eyes to enhance its fourth place end in Season 98.
