Newly naturalized basketball participant Justin Donta Brownlee on Monday took his oath of allegiance to the Republic of the Philippines.

This got here days after President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos signed Republic Act 11937 which grants Philippine citizenship to the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel import.

The oath-taking was officiated by Senate justice and human rights committee chairman Francis Tolentino.

Senator Bong Go together with Senator JV Ejercito handed over to Brownlee a duplicate of Republic Act No. 11937.

Brownlee is being thought-about for the lineup of Gilas Pilipinas, the nation’s nationwide group for males’s basketball, as they put together to face Lebanon and Jordan within the sixth and closing window of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers in February.

The Philippines, along with Japan and Indonesia, will host the FIBA World Cup in August.

In the recently-concluded 2022 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, Brownlee  was named because the Best Import of the Conference—his third in his PBA profession.

On Sunday, Brownlee and the remainder of the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings had been named because the convention’s champions after defeating the Bay Area Dragons, 114-99.
