De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde head coach Charles Tiu admitted that the Blazers are actually among the many suitors of younger massive man Allen Liwag, who left Emilio Aguinaldo College after two seasons.
Tiu shared he discovered from Liwag’s administration that the 6-foot-6 slotman has bid the Generals goodbye, prompting him to provoke the talks.
But the tactician mentioned Liwag has but to provide any dedication as of the second, however burdened Liwag may very well be an asset for the Taft crew who completed as runner-up in NCAA Season 98.
“No initial commitment yet but [I] definitely think he can fill in the void to be left by Will (Gozum) and (Miggy) Corteza,” Tiu instructed GMA Integrated News on Saturday, simply hours after Liwag’s exit from EAC was introduced.
“We heard from their management group that he was leaving EAC and being recruited by two other schools. So we asked if we could speak with him.”
Should Liwag decide to the inexperienced and white, he must serve a one-year residency and can solely get to play in Season 100. By then, he must fill within the sneakers to be left by Season 98 MVP Will Gozum, who performed an enormous position in Benilde’s magical run within the earlier season that noticed them finish a decades-long drought from the Final Four.
And Tiu is hoping Liwag would decide to play for them regardless of getting curiosity from different colleges.
