The Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots dealt Barangay Ginebra its first loss within the 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup after a 118-88 rout of the defending champions on Sunday on the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Hotshots began to tug away within the second quarter as they outscored Ginebra, 36-19, to increase their result in 59-37 on the half.
Magnolia led by as a lot as 31, 113-82, on the 3:10 mark of the ultimate body on a Calvin Abueva layup.
Antonio Hester flirted with a triple-double as he tallied 28 factors, 18 rebounds, and 9 assists, whereas Mark Barroca scored 21 factors. Paul Lee and Calvin Abueva chipped in 18 factors every.
Justin Brownlee tallied 22 factors, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds, whereas Scottie Thompson had 19 factors. Christian Standhardinger and Jamie Malonzo made 17 and 12 factors, respectively.
With the win, Magnolia improved to 2-3 whereas Ginebra went right down to 3-1.
Magnolia will face the NLEX Road Warriors subsequent on Thursday, whereas Ginebra will face the San Miguel Beermen on Friday.
